Youth Information Centre

YIC History
The Naas Youth
Information Centre (YIC) was officially opened in March 1995. The
YIC is part of the national youth information network and currently
comprises of 30 Youth Information Centres nationally, which are
mainly funded by the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth
Affairs (formally funded by Youth Affairs Section of the Department
of Education & Science). The Naas Youth Information Centre, is
administered by Youth Work Ireland (formerly National Youth

Aims:
The Youth
Information Centre is an educational process, which aims to empower
young people to make informed decision and positive life choices. It
is carried out through the provision of a person-centred service.
The YIC
operates as an integrated part of locally based youth services and
provides a free and confidential, generalist, drop-in information
service.
