In our office you can
- Read newspapers. Titles stocked include: local and national press, Metro Eireann multicultural newspaper, and Gay Community News (GCN).
- Use the Driver Theory Test Practice CD-Rom, Typing Tutor CD-Rom and ECDL CD-ROM in our Internet café*. Internet access is free to those aged 18 years and under**.
- Consult our notice board and window displays which feature job pages and information about local events.
*subject to our Acceptable Usage Policy
** parental consent required for those 15 years and under
In addition we offer the following services
- C.V. compilation advice and typing
- Photocopying and laminating
- Student Travel card

Additional activities
In addition we run
competitions for young people in Co. Kildare at various times during the year.
We are responsible for publishing the KYS newsletter and
Annual Report.
Each summer a Student Grant Information Evening is held for those entering third level education. It is planned to expand our Information Evenings to cover additional topics in future.

Opening Hours
The Youth Information Centre is open Monday to Thursday from 9.30 am until 5.30pm and on Friday from 9.30 am to 5pm.
Internet access is available from 9.45am until 5.15pm (4.45pm on Fridays).

Youth Information Forum
The Youth Information Forum meets four times per year and nominates two board members to the KYS Board of Directors.
The Forum is made up of volunteers who get together to look at what the YIC offers young people and ways to develop our service further.
If you are interested in joining this group please let us know!
VolunteersVolunteers support the work of the Information Centre through participation in the Forum,
working in the Centre and helping at events such as the Grant Information Evening.
