NAAS SUMMER FUN CAMP!

 

Naas Summer Fun Camp is an inter-agency summer project involving Kildare Youth Services, Naas Child & Family Project, Kildare Community Partnership, Kildare Sports Partnership, the    Vincent de Paul and the Canal Cluster School Completion Programme. The camp is for children & young people aged 5-14years who access the services of these agencies.

 

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Duties and Responsibilities:             Each volunteer will have responsibility for a group of approximately
7 children.

·        Age range 5-7yrs.:           Week beginning 6th July

·        Age range 8-11yrs.:         Week beginning 13th July

·        Age range 12-14yrs.:       Week beginning 27th July

 

Duties will involve

·        Accompanying and supervising the children while they
      participate in a range of activities – indoor, outdoor & field trips.

·        Ensuring the safety & welfare of the children,

·        Ensuring all group members are present & accounted for at
      all times. 

·        Dealing with day-to-day issues as they arise.

·        Working with the support of the Summer Camp 
      Coordinators.           

·        Supporting children with additional needs to participate fully
      in all activities

 

Time Commitment:                            9am to 3pm for one week – depending on which week you 
                                                            volunteer for.                                                             

Plus Volunteer Training Day 10am – 4pm  Wednesday
            24th June 2009   

               

Skills & Interests:                             Interest in working with children and young people, particularly those experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage is essential

Experience working with children and young people desirable

Special skills/interests would be an advantage e.g. sport, arts, drama

 

Personal Qualities:                            Open, friendly, fun loving, flexible, enthusiastic, energetic, need    
                                                            to have a good awareness of personal boundaries  

 

Other:                                                 All volunteers will be required to complete an application form and a Garda Vetting Form and attend a one-day volunteer training day.
