Who are we? Newbridge Youth Project is a community-based project that provides a variety of learning and development opportunities and services for young people in Newbridge and surrounding areas. We provide for and with young people, their families and communities to be responsive to their changing needs. Who do we work with?
Our aim:
What happens at the project? We have variety of different aged groups in our project with activities happening for young people to get involved in. Activities are based around our groups of young people. There is a strong importance placed on the building of professional and trusting relationships between the youth worker and young person in an informal and structured manner. Informal interaction allows the project to develop programmes or issue based discussions from this. These programmes are led by the young people based on what they perceive as beneficial for them to learn in order to progress in life and develop holistically. What do we do? We run programmes such as:
We also provide one to one support for various issues coming up for young people involved in the project.
We support young people to
build their capacity in order to reach their full potential through working on
informal educational programmes. These programmes provide challenges
which can give them valuable life experience in a safe supportive and fun
environment.
