There are a variety of groups running in the project and different activities for
young people to engage with. The activities employed differ, based on the needs and wants of the group and the individuals in each group.
There is a strong importance placed on the building of professional and trusting relationships between the worker and young person and for that reason sessions are often of a non-formal and in-formal nature.
Needs or interest based programmes can often result from these informal interactions. These programmes are driven by the group based on what they perceive as beneficial for them to learn in order to progress in life and develop holistically.
There are 10 members in this group, both boys and girls, between the ages of 16-18. The group love chilling out, having a laugh and using drama and graffiti art in lots of the programmes they do.
This is a group of young teens between the ages of 15-16 who have completed a number of programmes including leading the Stomp and think programme last year which culminated in the production of a film called "Enough". "Enough" has since been entered in the "Fresh" Film Festival and has been well received to date.
This is a small group of young lads between the ages of 13-14. The activities that take place in the group are a combination of needs and interest based.
The Looney Teens
This is a group of young teen which have completed our Stepping Stones Programme and have evolved into a group in their own right.
Comhairle na nÓg
This is a group of young people between the ages of 13-18. This group meet to discuss local issues that affect them and try to come up with ways to deal with them at local level.
