Photography Competition Exhibition – Prize Giving Ceremony
Kildare Youth Services (KYS), Youth Information Centre in association
with Eurodesk , recently held a photography competition to celebrate
European Youth Week 2011.
Young
people throughout Kildare were asked to enter the competition, with the
Theme “Youth on the Move” and what it means to young European citizens
nowadays. The competition entries became part of a Photography
Exhibition which was held in the Naas Library. One winner was chosen
from each age category 13 – 17 and 18 – 30 by local photographer from
Raportage Photography in Basin Street Naas.
KYS would like to Congratulate,
Leanne McCormack age 13 from Lacken View, Naas and Jake Loughlin age 20
from Craddockstown, Naas. Leanne’s and Jake’s photographs when on to be
entered into the National Eurodesk photography competition. Where they
went on to win second place in each of their age categories. Ger Halpin
KYS Youth Information Co-ordinator and Tommy Lavelle acting Regional
Director of KYS, presented both winners with their prizes and
certificates and acknowledged their wonderful achievement in winning
both at local level and second place at national level. KYS would
like to take this opportunity to thank all the young people who entered
the competition and showed off their talents as budding photographers.

Competition
Thanks to all the many young people from Co.
Kildare who entered the KYS Christmas e-card art competition this year.
A great variety of styles were received. A special thanks to local
artist Sandy Kennedy, who judged the competition.
As always the standard was extremely high, this
made it a tough task for Sandy.
We would like to Congratulate Claire
Malone Age 13 from St. Mary’s College Naas who was chosen as
the overall winner.
Claire’s winning entry became Kildare Youth
Services Christmas e-card for 2010.
